Brenda brings over 41 years of experience to Herbert Mines Associates. During her career, she has authored numerous articles on retail CEO succession, omnichannel leadership, in addition to being a featured speaker at NRF. Brenda joined Herbert Mines Associates in 2013 as President. Prior to joining the firm, Brenda led the global retail practice at Russell Reynolds Associates and was previously a Principal in the global retail practice at Spencer Stuart for six years. Preceding that, Brenda was an associate partner in the retail practice at Accenture, where she helped clients envision, design and deliver value-focused, business-transformation initiatives. These initiatives encompassed business global strategy, process, organizational structure and technology. Brenda was recognized throughout their retail practice for her expertise and strategic acumen.
Before joining Accenture, Brenda spent more than 16 years in the retail industry, where she held various positions in merchandising and store operations with Neiman Marcus Stores and Bloomingdale's.
Brenda received her Bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University.
Working with leading retailers at the senior most levels to assemble winning leadership teams, Brenda primarily recruits Board Directors and C-Suite level positions for publicly traded, privately held and private equity backed companies spanning vertical specialty, lifestyle & branded retail, off-price/value, grocery, hardlines, mass, and the specialty department store sectors.
