The Challenge: Several months into the job and with the support of the investment community, our client’s new CEO (also an HMA Placement) sought to build on the brand’s foundation as a unique approach to beauty retail and drive future growth by increasing brand awareness and new customer acquisition. Developing an omni-channel culture across the organization was key to achieving both goals as a strong digital presence would increase both the company’s geographic market reach and attract a new customer-base.
Accordingly, our client needed an influential digital executive with a solid understanding of a traditional retail business to lead this omni-channel evolution. The executive would be functionally responsible for all things digital, including product strategies, technology, customer experience, and ultimately the channel’s P&L. Additionally, the new executive would be responsible for initiating the omni-channel dialogue relative to all functional partners, inspiring and influencing leaders across the organization.

The placement had significant experience building e-commerce and direct channels from the ground up at two best-in-class retail companies, and had recently integrated retail and e-commerce in her latest role. In building an omni-channel culture while in her prior position, the executive had ownership over marketing, operations, customer service/experience, and business intelligence, while also maintaining an influential role throughout the company.
