Kara Buescher

Kara joined Herbert Mines Associates in 2010, bringing with her over twenty years of experience in both executive search and corporate recruiting. She focuses on senior-level search assignments for a broad range of functions in fashion, retail and consumer products. Kara has executed searches with diverse clients that include Fortune 500 companies, private/family-owned businesses, and private equity portfolio companies.

Kara began her career with Nordeman Grimm, a New York-based firm, where she worked her way up from Research Associate to Principal. After spending some time on the client side, operating as Director of Strategic Recruiting for Deloitte and other professional services firms, she joined Korn Ferry International's Chicago office and was a member of its Retail and Consumer practice. Most recently, Kara was responsible for executive recruiting at PetSmart, where she was instrumental in the hiring of a broad array of senior executives.

With a passion for retail and a keen eye for talent, Kara also enjoys identifying and attracting accomplished executives on behalf of her clients, and assisting in the building of an organization's leadership. Clients and candidates value her consultative approach coupled with her deep recruiting experience and well-grounded intuition.

A graduate of University of Illinois, Kara currently resides in Manhattan. She is an animal lover and advocate, and volunteers her time on behalf of several animal welfare organizations.
