Gail Winans joined Herbert Mines Associates in 2004, establishing the Firm's presence in the Southeast. Based in Atlanta, Gail brings search expertise in the areas of big box retail, consumer products, and professional services.
Prior to joining Herbert Mines Associates, Gail was the Director of Executive Staffing at The Home Depot. Gail led the design and implementation of progressive and effective recruitment strategies designed to build global leadership capacity at The Home Depot across all functional areas.

Before joining The Home Depot, Gail was a Senior Associate in the Atlanta office of Korn/Ferry International. As a member of the Professional Services Practice, Gail performed numerous high-level search assignments for a broad variety of functions within major management consulting firMs. In this capacity, Gail also managed a number of technology-oriented engagements targeting Internet technology, software implementation, and e-commerce. Gail has also performed search work in the telecommunications, manufacturing, real estate, retail, and high-tech industries.

Prior to her foray into executive search, Gail was a Compensation Consultant in the Performance and Rewards Practice for Mercer Consulting (FKA William M. Mercer, Inc.), a leading international benefits consulting firm. As a consultant, Gail specialized in the development of compensation strategy and detailed plan design and implementation for clients, both international and domestic.

A native of the state of Ohio, Gail holds an undergraduate degree from Ohio Dominican University, located in Columbus, Ohio. Gail lives in Atlanta with her husband and three children.
