Herbert Mines Associates was founded in 1978 by Herb Mines, who introduced the concept of retained executive search to retailers. Our firm has broadened over the years, but without straying from Herb's original focus on delighting clients.

Today we are the largest retained executive search firm focused exclusively on retail, consumer products, fashion/apparel, e-commerce, and foodservice. These sectors are united by the consumer-driven nature of their business.

Herbert Mines Associates is also distinctive because we have remained an independent executive search firm. Most boutiques were acquired by major firms over the past decade, but we remain convinced that we can serve clients better - and maintain our culture better - if we chart our own course.

We are proud that most of our executive search business comes from repeat clients. They value our ability to bring the focus of a boutique and the capability of a big firm.
